Pray for God to send labourers.
“Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
Pray for God to give wisdom and understanding.
“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.” (Ephesians 1:16-18)
Pray for believers to have freedom.
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (I Timothy 2:1-2)
Pray for people to be saved.
“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (I Timothy 2:3-4)
Pray for the Gospel to be preached.
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” (I Timothy 2:5-8)
Pray for God’s Word to be effective and glorified.
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.” (II Thessalonians 3:1)
Pray for God’s servants to be delivered from evil.
“And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” (II Thessalonians 3:2)
Pray for God’s will to be done with power.
“Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power.” (II Thessalonians 1:11)
Pray for the name of Jesus to be glorified.
“That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (II Thessalonians 1:12)
Pray for believers to be holy.
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thessalonians 5:23)
Pray for believers to grow.
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” (Colossians 4:12)
Pray for doors to be opened.
“Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds.” (Colossians 4:3)
Pray for God’s servants to preach clearly.
“That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” (Colossians 4:4)
Pray for believers to know God’s will.
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” (Colossians 1:9)
Pray for believers to be fruitful.
“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10)
Pray for believers to be strengthened.
“Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.” (Colossians 1:11)
Pray for believers to love.
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.” (Philippians 1:9)
Pray for believers to make good decisions.
“That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.” (Philippians 1:10)
Pray for God’s servants to be accepted.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints.” (Romans 15:30-31)
Pray for God’s servants to be joyful and refreshed.
“That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.” (Romans 15:32)
