FAQ Intro

Welcome to this FAQ resource!  We hope that you find the information that you are seeking and that the answers are indeed helpful.

Here are some questions and answers to get us started.

Q.  Where do these questions come from?

A.  Missionaries on the field have encountered challenges and have asked our FBMI team for an opinion.

Q.  How do I find an answer to my particular question?

A.  This resource is “searchable.”  Submit your question briefly with the most critical key words.  If nothing pops up, make the question less specific by eliminating any secondary aspects.  For example, “abdominal pain for three days that started general and became sharp, with fever” becomes “abdominal pain, fever”

Q.  Who helps to write the answers?

A.  The answers found in this resource are prepared by the FBMI home office director and field services team members.

Q.  How are the answers structured?

A.  In general, there will be (1) A brief statement of the question, (2) A brief summary of the answer, (3) An authoritative discussion of the matter on video or in print, (4) An outline of this key content and (5) A list of the most helpful and authoritative references for your further study.

Q.  What should I do if an answer to my question is not available?

A.  Please submit your specific question to us at this site ______ and we will be happy to seek to provide an answer. For now, our procedure will be to first notify you that we’ve received your question and are doing the research.  Once an answer has been found and articulated, we will let you know.  If your question is of general interest, we’ll probably edit and post it.

Q.  Are the answers on this site the final answers?

A.  These answers should be considered our professional opinions.  For example, we don’t give medical or tax advice, but we seek to help missionaries find the most accurate, helpful and authoritative references.  As missionaries on the field secure professional counsel (i.e. legal, tax, medical, etc.) for their family and ministry decisions, we seek to help missionaries to understand how to discern if they have received good counsel, and why, and whether to seek a second opinion.
